Did you get on well with the local ABV Staff and feel supported during your stay? I felt that Maria was very helpful and did the majority ofall the communicating and organizational work. I found her to be very helpful.
What was your favorite memory of this trip? Spending time with the children at the program and watching their improvement was an amazing experience.
What was the most difficult thing you experienced? Communicating with Villagers that spoke a native dialect.
Any tips for future volunteers… (Clothing, travel, personal items,donations, sightseeing etc) Antigua is a great place to visit. make sure you budget enough time in
your trip to explore the city and all of Guatemala!
Personal Paragraph (ABV Program Testimonial): My experience in Guatemala was amazing. I loved getting to know the people and Antigua is a great city to immerse yourself in the Guatemalan culture. In addition to all of the great actives all of the service and volunteer opportunities make it a great place to visit. My time at the program was amazing. It was great to be part of such giving organization and to witness the immense difference they make in the lives of the children they help. In addition to my volunteer experience I had a wonderful host family and made life long friendships. I will cherish the memories I have of my experience in Guatemala for years to come.
How would you describe/rate your experience working with the ABV staff in the USA? I found the ABV staff in the USA to be very helpful and knowledgeable.

What was the most difficult thing you experienced? dealing with all the humidity
What surprised me most….? I learned the children’s names and family trees so quickly. They all had such distinct personalities.

Bug spray! Tanks ops, arts & crafts, friendship bracelets. Go to the Cayes. Sunglasses and sunscreen
